What I Wore...

Had a busy but fun christmas weekend. Sunday we went to go see the Trans Siberian Orchestra with our friends. It was our first time seeing them and it was such a great show! There were some parts that could have been left out but I enjoyed the show very much and highly recommend everyone to go see it!! :D Christmas eve we went to Newport, Rhode Island to take a tour of The Elms mansion before they take down the holiday decorations. It is crazy to think that these people only spent summers in these homes! The house cost 1.4 mil to build back in 1901, today that would be 22 mil, it was also the first house to use electricity and had a $300K party budget when they were there for the summer. The mansion tours are definitely worth doing so if you get a chance you should check it out, we have done 3 so far and it has been worth it. Later that night we went to celebrate christmas eve with my boyfriend's family like we do every year.

These were taken with the iPhone and very late at night after we got back, hence why I look so tired! :p

Nom Nom Nom

Today was a cooking/ baking day.I made some green beans wrapped in turkey bacon sprinkled with brown sugar. S'more cupcakes and one of my favorite korean dishes called Duk Bok Gi, it's made with rice cakes in hot red pepper paste. I was too excited to make these that I didn't take pictures with my usual camera. Used my iPhone so I apologize for poor picture quality! I also forgot to take pictures of the cupcake baking process...Oops :(

First I cleaned off the ends on the green beans then grabbed about 5-6 stems and wrapped them in bacon

Then I sprinkled a little garlic salt on them.

Finally I sprinkled some brown sugar.

Bake at 350 for 20min.YUMMMM SO GOOD!!!

S'more Cupcakes with whipped frosting. I frosted it as soon as it came out of the oven so that it melted a bit and tasted more like a marshmallow. Then add toppings...

These taste as good as they look!! :D

Duk Bok Gi, it is VERY spicy! I also added udon noodles. YuM~

Consumed WAY WAY WAY~ too many calories today, but it was so worth it! I had fun making everything and more fun eating it and sharing it with my family!! Thanks for stopping by :D

Empire State of Mind

I would have post this yesterday, but my internet was down!! :( The boyfriend and I spent this past weekend in New York, sightseeing and taking in all the amazing holiday decorations the city has to offer right now. I took my outfit pictures before I left because I didn't want to bring my big camera with me and I also figured I would be in my big winter coat most of the time!

 Shirt: Jcrew
Sweater: Madewell
Leggings: Gap (I actually opted for my thicker Gap Jeggings for NY)

YUP more polka dots! And I'm really into mustard yellow right now.

 Necklace: Banana Republic

 Boots: Forever 21
(Sooooo happy these did not fall apart on me with all the walking we did!!)

I am a HUGE Hello Kitty fanatic so when I found out that there was going to be a pop-up HK art exhibit going on the same time we were going to be there I could not wait to go!!

Is this not the cutest and most perfect Christmas tree?!!

 THE tree at Rockefeller Center

It was like a box of sardines trying to get here the first time, but we left and came back later and had a easier time seeing the tree. Could not believe how crowded it was...lesson learned! DO NOT go the week before Christmas!!

There was something bright and cool to look at everywhere you turned! Worth the trip in my opinion.

Macy's display

And no trip is complete without getting some macarons! On this trip I was introduced to these large ones from Bouchon Bakery. Yummmmmm~ Pistachio is my favorite flavor :D
